If you’re in the mood for action, pure adrenaline and a little break from everyday life, Europapark is definitely the right place for you and I think its a must see when in Germany. However, the little adventure doesn’t have to stop after leaving the park, as there are special adventure hotels in and around the Europapark where you can spend an extraordinary night.
Hotel:
The highlight of the hotel is definitely the giant skeleton of the sea serpent Svalgur, which extends from the lobby to the top floor. The snake is part of a story that is told around the new Rulantica water world.
Throughout the hotel, there are lots of little things that make you feel like you are actually staying in a museum. Many small and large exhibits can be discovered in the corridors, in the entrance area and in the restaurants. All of this fits in thematically with Scandinavia and the Vikings.
Restaurants:
Within the hotel, there are two restaurants and a bar where you can end the evening with delicious food or cocktails. The restaurants, like the entire hotel, are in Scandinavian style and offer food and drinks from the north.
We ended our evening in the restaurant Bubba Svens. The whole restaurant is based on an old boathouse and a huge Viking boat hangs in the middle of the room above our heads.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is also served in the morning in the Bubba Svens restaurant and is really excellent. There’s everything you could wish for here – from fresh fruit and pastries to a hot bar with boiled eggs, bacon, scrambled eggs and more.
The Rooms:
The rooms are also designed in the same style and are reminiscent of an overnight stay in a museum. They are reminiscent of a researcher’s or scientist’s room and there are lots of little things to discover here too!
Europapark opens for hotel guests an extra half hour before regular opening time and as a hotel guest at Krønasår you can take the shuttle bus directly to the entrance for hotel guests and have the opportunity to enter the park at 8:30 am. Some of the rides are already open and you can ride the roller coasters (such as Blue Fire) first thing in the morning without having to queue.
Europapark – the theme park
I am always amazed at how much attention to detail has gone into the park and the country themes into which the park is divided. Here you can enjoy a crepe in France and shortly afterwards take part in a rafting trip in Sweden, then stroll through a small Scandinavian village in Iceland, then off to the BlueFire looping roller coaster and then back to Greece, where water coasters in the style of the Greek gods await us.
Facts:
Entrance fee: (2019)
52,00 € per person for 1 day
98,50 € per person for 2 days
Especially if you are visiting the park for the first time, I would recommend two days. You can do a lot in one day (if there isn’t much going on), but two days are ideal to really enjoy everything and to savor the little things.

Roller coasters :
There are countless roller coasters in the park for all ages and in almost all „levels“. Here are my highlights that you should definitely ride when you visit the park.
Blue Fire
Wodan
Silver Star
Fjord Rafting
Euro Sat
Thematic areas:
The park is divided into different European countries with great attention to detail. In the themed areas, you will find lots of little things that are typical of the respective countries and the houses and rollercoasters are also designed in the style of the country.
I was particularly taken with the Scandinavian village and the Iceland theme area. Here you will find small Scandinavian houses, geysers and can immerse yourself in Nordic myths in the queuing areas.
Food:
The restaurants and snacks also perfectly match the respective country. In Iceland you can enjoy flamed salmon, in France you can take a short break with crêpes and tarte flambée or watch the food land directly on the table in the looping restaurant by riding a small roller coaster.
